Reflective Summary

I have learnt many things through this 5 reflective journals.About global warming tips,greenhouse gases,glaciers,ice caps and its been a great experience to have and know so much knowledge.I have learnt that the effects of climate change brings danger to living things and animals.Humans influences also lead to climate change and it also leads to global warming.

I have learnt that Singapore has done her best to keep the awareness of global warming and trying to stop it.I have also learnt about tips to change this global warming.

My perspective about climate changes and global warming has changed a lot since i read this articles which gave me an awareness of Climate Changes and how dangerous to us it can be and to the Earth.How it can affect live,living things,little innocent animals and destroy their way of living because of this climate change.Their body temperature cant adapt to the change in surroundings and temperature and some may not even survive or some may even survive or even get sick terribly.

That is why my perspective has changed.Its been a great learning experience and i ahve learnt alot.

Reflective Journal 5

In this article,i've learnt tips on how to reduce global warming.Tips such as travelling light,teleconference instead of flying,using compact flourescent light bulbs,recycling and using recycled products,inflating your tires,planting native trees,turning down the heat,buying renewable energy,acting globally,eating locally.

Travelling light:Walking or bike instead to school or work.Try not to use your car.

Teleconference instead of flying:Try to telephone or video conference to save money.Airplanes cost a lot.

Using compact flourescent light bulbs:These energy efficient bulbs help fight climate change because they reduce amount of fossil fuels that utilities burn.

Recycling and using recycled products:Products made from recycled paper,glass,metal and plastic reducing carbon emmisions because they use less energy to manufacture products made completely from new materials.

Inflating your tires:If you own a car,getting a better gas mileage is when the tires are fully inflated.This is so that it will burn less gas and emit less carbon.

Planting native trees:Trees can absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and use it as an energy source,producing oxygen for us,humans,to breathe.

Turning down the heat:Heating and air conditioning draw more than half of the energy that a home uses in United States.Turn down the heat and air conditioning when you leave the house or go to bed.

Buying renewable energy:Electricity generation produces 40% of carbon emmisions.Growing number of utilities generate electricity from renewable energy sourceswith solar panels,windmills and other technologies.

Act globally,eat locally:Shop at a local farmer's markets and you will find fresh and healthy food,and help save our climate.

Through this, i have learnt a lot of tips and information and will put it into action.

Reflective Journal 4

In this article,I understand that Singapore's government is doing their best in helping creating awareness in global warming.They conducted polls in 127 countries in 2007 and 2008.Results show that about 38% has awareness of it.

This website also posts about green and environmental news.It also urges us to have awareness of global warming.It shows all the supporting partners such as the singapore nature map,the national energy policy report,energy efficient singapore,ABC waters programme,green mark scheme,key environmental statistics 2007,NEA annual report 2006/2007,NParks annual report 2006/2007,National Climate Change Strategy.Singapore Green Plan 2012,State of the environment 2005 report,PUB annualreport 2005,Guidebook on waste minimisation for Industries.

I understand how Singapore wants to help for creating awareness for citizens.I learnt a lot about Singzapore's help in this article.

In this article, i learnt how greenhouse gases can affect the climate change and trigger it.I learnt that greenhouse gases are made of water vapour,carbon dioxide and methane.Greenhouse gases warm the atmosphere by efficiently absorbing thermal infrared radiation emitted by the Earth's surface.

I learnt a lot of things about the greenhouse gases.I also learnt the Earth's most abundant gases to be water vapour,carbon dioxide,methane,nitrous oxide,ozone and CFC'S.

The most important are
-water vapour,which contributes 36-70%
-carbon dioxide,which contributes 9-26%
-methane,which contributes 4-9%
-ozone,which contributes 3-7%

I learnt a lot about greenhouse gases and how it affects our world.Now i know totally of it.

Reflective Journal 2

In this article, i learnt the effects of climate changes and what is happening to our earth.Firstly,the sea level is rising.During the 20th century,scientists found out that the sea level rose by 15 cm(6 inches).This is due to the glaciers and ice bergs melting.The oceans are also warming.Arctic sea ice is melting and glaciers and permafrost are melting too.

More rain causes flooding and warmer temperatures has caused more intense rainfall in some places .THIS can cause flooding.

Extreme droughts.Higher temperatures are causing higher evaporations and higher chances of climate changes.

Ecosystems,changing.As temperatures warm,animals may or may not survive.Their body temperature cannot adapt to this type of warm and hot temperature.

Hurricanes have changed,in frequency and strength.There are results that hurricanes has increased.

Seawater ,more acidic.When greenhouse gases gets into the ocean ,it makes it more acidic.This could make great impacts on marine wildlife.

In this article,i learnt many things that can cause climate changes and triggers the Earth. I see now,that climate changes are very dangerous and it can cause and effect a lot.

Reflective Journal 1

In this article,i learnt about climate change and how it affects the globe.I also learnt how it happened and how it affects the weather.In this article,it is stated clear that climate change means any long term significant change in the expected patterns of average weather of a specific region.

I also learnt about climate change factors. How it affects the climate cahnge and what is its realtion toward climate change too.I also learnt about plate tectonics,ice caps,solar outputs,orbital variations,volcanism,ocean variability and lastly human influences.

I learnt a lot of things just by reading this article.I also learnt about glacial geology,vegetation,ice cores,dendrochronology,pollen analysis,insects and sea level change.These are all,as what scientists say,to be evidences of climate changes.

I learnt how the sea level changes and how vegetations are changing and is affected by the climate change.

I have learnt a lot from reading this article.
